I wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback on my recent sales experience at Hendrick BMW. I completed a purchase of a 2010 M3 yesterday with the help of Stephen Bartalini. Stephen was knowledgeable, courteous and extremely professional throughout all aspects of the transaction (which took more than a month). This was my first experience with a BMW dealership and I feel confident saying I will be back in the future.

Thanks for your note. I have to tell you that this is about the most fun I've had since I can remember...and since I'm at least at 'mid-life', I can remember a lot! Stephen, I thank you too, for your perfect suggestion, expert advice, patience throughout my decision making process, tremendous teaching skills, and really your whole approach to selling cars. Don't know if I dare put this in written form, but from the customer perspective this was a great experience. My best to you and yours for a fantastic holiday season. Oh, and I won't leave all the rubber on the pavement, or at least not all in one place.

Hendrick BMW – Great Service

If you’ve been around me for some period longer than 30 minutes in the last 4 or 5 years, we probably engaged in a conversation about what kind of car I should purchase. This was probably followed by or included one of my lame jokes about how cars should be black given how all except two have been black and one I didn’t really have a choice. The conversation was typically a pro / con discussion about lifestyle, job, the high cost of cars these days, how I wanted a truck and several other dimensions. Well, the other day I woke up and decided I was buying a car regardless of how long it took.
With the help of Jill, kbb.com, and last minute Twitter advice from @cp2 and @canook_65, we purchased a BMW 550i. Side note – I still have no idea how to interpret the arcane model numbers that BMW uses. Last minute, @cp2 and @canook_65 talked me out of buying a Jeep primarily due to them being generally average. After lunch, I drove to Hendrick BMW and bought the 550 from Jhoda Edquist (@jhodabmwcpo) who was absolutely awesome to work with. He did a great job putting up with my kids climbing all over the store and explained the car really well. I highly suggest working with him if you are in the market for a BMW. The end to end transaction was fast and painless.
Now comes more praise for Hendrick. While switching lanes on Graham, I ran through a pothole the size of the grand canyon. I was quite upset and worried that I had ruined my BMW forever or that it was going to cost me several thousand dollars. Immediately after hitting the hole, I dialed up customer support on the BMW hotline in the car. They set up an appointment for me the next day!
The next day I drove the car down to the service area. While there, I treated myself to a complimentary donut, some complimentary freshly brewed Starbucks coffee and a surprisingly great atmosphere in the wait area. It was quiet except for the TV. It was clean which is rare in Charlotte for a service area and the mechanic was super cool and explained everything to me so I knew I was getting ripped off.
About two hours later, I got my car back and it was perfect. Hendrick replaced the tire and rim without any questions based on the Road Hazard agreement, washed the car, and I was on my way. This was a perfect service experience!!!
So, I’ve decided that I like everything about Hendrick BMW and the BMW company after the purchase experience, the driving experience, and the service experience. Thanks for all of this Hendrick / BMW!!!

Hendrick Marrow 5K Race

Congratulations to Hendrick BMW's Chris Cave who successfully completed the 5k Race and finished 2nd Place out of 60 participants with a time of 17:55, that equates to a 5.66 minute mile! Also on hand to show support with a fantastic effort was Clay Dellinger who finished in the Top 10 as well.

This exciting event started at the sprawling Hendrick Motorsports’ complex at Lowe’s Motor Speedway’s Rock City Campground and then headed towards the Lowe’s Motor Speedway Complex. Participants ran at the state-of-art zMax Dragway, going up one side and back down the other, then looped around the parking lot and headed over to the perimeter of The Dirt Track before crossing the pedestrian crosswalk to Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Proceeds from this event benefitted the Hendrick Marrow Program of the Be The Match Foundationsm. The Hendrick Marrow Program works with Be The Match Foundation to support the National Marrow Donor Program® (NMDP). Specifically, it raises money to add more potential marrow donors to the Be The Match Registry, increasing the chances that more patients can find their match. It also helps patients with uninsured transplant costs, which are often barriers to treatment.

Charlotte International Autoshow Coming November 19

This year there is a first-ever Charity Preview Night to benefit the Charlotte Rescue Mission which occurs on November 18. This ticketed event offers first looks at the show, a “Sneak Peek” at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, a live auction hosted by Larry Sprinkle of WCNC, and entertainment provided by “The Embers.”

555 Horsepower Beasts Arrive at Hendrick BMW

Hendrick BMW is now in possession of 2 vehicles that BMW said would never happen. They are M versions of their Sport Activity Vehicles. What makes the X5M and X6M so unique? First, they are the first two vehicles offered by the M Division to offer turbocharged V8 engines, All-Wheel Drive (xDrive), a true Automatic Transmission (obviously tuned for high performance duty), and of course packaged in the Sport Activity Shell.

The 4.4l V8 engine found in both models is similar to the engine found in the x6 xDrive 50i, however the turbo boost has been jacked up and horsepower climbs from 400 to 555. The performance is tremendous, with 0-60 times of 4.3 seconds, that's almost identical to the other vehicles in the M stable, the M3, M5, and M6.

We have always known the class the BMW 1 Series has. This time, it receives official corroboration of the fact that the 2009 BMW 1 Series is number one in most parameters in relation to its rivals.

Consumer Guide Automotive rated some top cars in the Premium Sporty car segment for various performance categories. Many benchmarks were taken into consideration, and a rating on a scale of ten was given. BMW Named Most Sustainable Automobile Company for 5th Year Straight

The SAM Group today published its latest evaluation for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). For the fifth consecutive year, it rated the BMW Group as the leader in its industry, making it the world’s most sustainable automobile manufacturer. The BMW Group is the only company in the automobile industry to have been listed in this important sustainability index family every year since it was established in 1999.
“We are delighted that the BMW Group is super sector leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World for the fifth consecutive year.This proves once again that we are well on our way to establishing sustainability as the guiding principle for all our processes. We refined our sustainability strategy in the first half of 2009 – this was the next logical step and another important milestone,” said Dr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.
The Board of Management of the BMW Group declared sustainability one of the company’s core strategic principles back in 2000. At the BMW Group corporate sustainability is firmly entrenched throughout the entire value chain: from the development of fuel-saving and alternative vehicle concepts through clean production processes to green recycling practices. The BMW Group also accepts responsibility for its roughly 100,000 employees and is involved in social projects outside of its plants.
In recent months the BMW Group has taken further important steps towards further improving sustainability. Each and every proposal today is measured against the corporate goal of sustainability. (Sept. 2, 2009) – "TOGETHER: The Hendrick Motorsports Story," NASCAR Media Group’s documentary-style film chronicling the history of the eight-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship team, will air Sunday, Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m. ET on ABC prior to the network’s Pepsi 500 race coverage from Fontana, Calif.
Narrated by three-time Academy Award nominee Tom Cruise and presented by Pepsi, "TOGETHER" employs exclusive interviews, never-before-seen archival footage, thrilling racing sequences and rare family photography to detail the personal relationships and emotional events that have shaped one of NASCAR’s most decorated organizations.
The official "TOGETHER" trailer is available at www.refresheverything.com/hendrick. The Web site will feature regular updates of content from the film and provide fans the opportunity to upload video messages about their favorite Hendrick Motorsports moments. Select fan-generated clips will be shown during the Oct. 11 broadcast on ABC.
