Overview

The 2010 BMW 6 Series is a 2-door, 4-passenger luxury car available in two versions - 650i Coupe and 650i Convertible. The BMW 6 Series delivers stellar performance, refined handling and that unique combination of elegance and sportiness that defines BMW. It is marked by its sculpted sleek exteriors, detailed interiors, outstanding performance, brilliant handling, and rock-solid stability.

Power and performance

Both the RWD coupe and convertible models are powered by a 4.8-liter, V8, 360-horsepower engine that achieves 15 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is optional. Fuel economy with the automatic is an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city/23 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined. Getting the manual drops the highway number by 1 mpg.

Body and styling

Eighteen-inch cast alloy wheels, xenon adaptive headlights with dynamic auto-leveling and corona headlight-rings, 3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function sport steering wheel with audio, cruise controls, iDrive system with on-board computer and controller, and 6 programmable memory buttons, automatic climate control, Dakota Leather upholstery, center console and door trim, anti-theft AM/FM stereo/CD audio system with 8 speakers, Auto-Store, FM diversity antenna system, and MP3 capabilities and HD Radio with "multicast" FM station reception are among the key features. A Sport Package with 19-inch light-alloy wheels with mixed performance tires, shadowline trim, Anthracite headliner, sport seats and sport suspension and a Premium Sound Package with iPod, USB adapter, 6-disc CD changer and premium hi-fi system are optional. The available Cold Weather Package includes heated front seats, heated steering wheel and a ski bag. The individual options include different 19-inch wheels, active steering, individual door sill finishers, showdowline trim and anthracite headliner. There are also special-order interior leather colors.

Safety Features

Driver's and passengers' airbags, BMW's Advanced Safety System for integrated deployment of passive and active safety features, tire pressure monitoring system, four-wheel antilock brakes, LATCH attachment for child-restraint safety installation, traction and stability control, and active head restraints are standard.
