The All-New, Fourth-Generation BMW X5 SAV

Kicking off its fourth generation with a truly dramatic launch video, the all-new BMW X5 steps onto the luxury SUV scene in style.

As a long-time contender in the three-row premium crossover market--and the first of its kind in the BMW Sports Activity Vehicle lineup--the BMW X5 was ready to make its move and evolve into something even greater. The new model keeps everything that we loved about the previous generation, but expands, polishes, tweaks, and smooths for the new year.

What's Changed?

Pretty much everything about the BMW X5 is new except the name--it's longer (by about an inch), it's wider (by more than 2.5 inches), and its taller (also by about an inch). And while an inch here and there may not seem like much, that adds up in total body and interior volume.

BMW designers have added new LED lighting standard at the front and back of this cushy SUV--and while it looks nice, it also adds a new level of safety by providing brighter, longer-lasting light in dim, foggy, and dark conditions.

The interior boasts an entirely fresh new look, with a new steering wheel, new leather upholstery options, new displays for the infotainment system, and a larger panoramic sunroof.

New BMW X5 Powertrain

It's not just a new look that the 2019 BMW X5 brings along--its powerplant options are new, as well:

  • 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbo engine
  • 335 horsepower (+35 HP from 3rd gen model)
  • 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine
  • 456 horsepower (+11 HP from 3rd gen model)
  • First-ever Off-Road Package available

The all-new 2019 BMW X5 is expected to go on sale sometime in November of this year.
