Performance: Engines and AWD

New for 2019, the BMW X5 is more powerful than ever before. Last year's 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine has been improved and tuned to deliver up to 335 horsepower--35 HP more than before. Its 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine underwent a similar treatment, boosting power up 11 HP to a thrilling 456 horsepower. For the first time, an Off-Road Package will be available. xDrive all-wheel drive is standard on both trim levels--next year's model may re-introduce rear-wheel drive, a hybrid variant, and possibly diesel power.
